The Mount Holly Fire & Ice Committee is hosting a social-distancing-friendly ice exhibit on the traditional Fire & Ice last Saturday in January (January 30, 2021). Due to State restrictions and Township regulations we won’t be able to have any of the normal event activities such as the dog sleds, vendors, chili contest, etc.
So no Fire, but plenty of Ice!!!
Instead we’ll have ice carvings spread throughout town allowing for plenty of social distancing to keep everyone safe. Visitors can enjoy the art of the ice carving, get outdoors, spend some time visiting Mount Holly’s shops and restaurants, wear masks, and stay safe.
Why such an effort to beat back the pandemic and fill the town with beautiful Ice Sculptures? Because, in 2020 we lost a guiding-light member of the Fire and Ice Festival committee, Mr. Robert “Rocky” D’Entremont. Aka, Mr. Fire and Ice himself. After 27 years, under Rocky’s guidance the Mount Holly Fire and Ice Festival has never missed a single year. We weren’t about to let that happen this year, no matter what.
